Who We Work With

Ag Lending Group helps Oregon farmers and ranchers finance land purchases, refinances, land-backed lines of credit, development projects and hobby acreage. We're a family-run farm financing advisor that works nationwide, and we take your Oregon deal to the ag lending partners that understand your crops, your water rights and your ground.

Oregon agriculture is about as varied as it gets. The Willamette Valley has grass seed, nursery stock, hazelnuts, berries and vineyards. Eastern and central Oregon run wheat, hay, potatoes, onions and cattle. Orchards, vineyards and nursery ground take a different kind of underwriting than row crops, and lenders will want to see your water rights, their priority and how reliably they deliver.

Water rights matter a lot here. In Oregon, a water right is tied to the land and recorded with the Oregon Water Resources Department, so lenders look at the permit or certificate, its priority date, and whether it's been used. A right that goes unused for five years in a row can be lost, and some basins limit new groundwater wells. We help you gather your certificates and use records so the appraisal reflects the water that comes with the ground.

Whether you operate 40 acres or 40,000, we work with Oregon grass seed and row crop farms, nurseries, orchards and hazelnut growers, vineyards, wheat and hay operations, cattle ranches, hobby farms and ag businesses.

A real Oregon story: told them what to fix, and they came back

A family-owned and operated winery first came to us about four years ago. At the time, we couldn't get them financed, and we told them so. We didn't just say no. We walked them through exactly what lenders needed to see and what to fix first. They went home and did all of it. When they came back, we took their deal to our lending partners and got it done. Sometimes the most useful thing an advisor can do is tell you "not yet" and show you the path to yes.

Hear from some of the farmers we’ve helped:

  • "Madison walked us through a lengthy and complicated process. Successfully! We have a unique property with agriculture, a house, a winery and a place of destination. It was truly comforting knowing they were always there with us along the way."
